Susann will read a short story, do finger plays, sing songs and nursery rhymes, dance with the children, then put out toys for playtime.

To Celebrate the Centennial of the John Jermain Memorial Library, the library will
show a film made from a classic published in each decade. The films will be shown on the third Thursday of each month. There will be time to discuss the book and the film following the showing. The books are available in the library or through interlibrary loan.
The first book and film will be Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton, copyright 1911.
The schedule and titles of all books and films is posted in the library.
Popcorn will be served at the film.

Writing Workshop: The Memoir
Lou Ann Walker returns to facilitate an 8 week workshop on the memoir. Ms Walker is author of the acclaimed memoir A Loss for Words: The Story of Deafness in a Family and editor of The Southampton Review. Participants will learn techniques for accessing their stories, as well as discover the pleasures and difficulties of the memoir form.
The workshop is limited to 10 participants. The cost is $30.00 for the series.
Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. April 20 to June 15. Advance Registration is required.
Looking for someone to play the popular card game with? We will provide space for you to work your own Magic against other players or "Planeswalkers". Bring your deck and be ready for battle!

First we will have an elegant "tea" and enjoy juice and tasty snacks with our American Girl friends. Then we will discuss the American Girl books (May 1st) or do a craft (June 5th) Parents or caregivers are encouraged to take part and must stay in the building. Don't forget to bring along a doll that you love!

Matchbox Car Playtime Imagine being in the driver's seat of a super-fast automobile! Bring your favorite cars or use ours. There will be ramps and roads to test drive on.

The group does needlework and helps members with little problems that crop up. Instructions are also given. Yarn donations are always appreciated.
Jackie Jackson will lead a 6 week (May 19 to June 23) exploration of how you think and help you shift into authentic thinking. Jackson will help you acknowledge, appreciate and thereby sharpen your senses, connecting energetically to who you are, how you think and how you choose to participate in your relationships. You will explore a variety of modalities: movement and anatomy, psychology and visualization, astrology and sound, touch and aroma therapy and choose methods for transforming your mind into a more effective ally.
The class is limited to 15. The cost is $25.00 for the series. Registration is required.Lee McAllister, a naturalist and author of Hiking Long Island presents a program on the hiking opportunities available to us on Long Island. The slide show and lecture include the geology, history (both natural and human), flora, fauna and topographical features that make Long Island such an interesting place to hike at any season.

This workshop will be led by Stephen Flores, Lic. Ac. and Pat Gorman, Lic. Ac. They are local acupuncturists who are dedicated to the wellness of our community. Participants in the workshop will explore classical Chinese perspectives of seasonal eating. Learn the simple, natural way of returning to the joy of eating while maintaining an optimum weight.
This family band including Rick Jackofsky who plays the guitar, clawhammer banjo, and the harmonica; Georgianne Jackofsky who plays doumbek, banjo uke, mountain dulcimer, and does flatfoot dancing; Eric Jackofsky who plays the fiddle and does flatfooted dancing and Annalee Jackofsky who plays the manadoin, jawharp and does flatfoot dancing will sing and perform Acoustic American Roots Music. They have performed throughout the Northeast and have been described as a refreshing and invigorating old time string band.

Linda Jean Schwartz of the Child Development Center of the Hamptons will discuss Early Intervention for children who may have learning, physical or speech delays. If you are not sure if your child qualifies, this is the program for you!
This program will run concurrently with the English and Spanish Story and Craft, so bring your child along!

Art Show at the John Jermain Memorial Library – Paintings by Roisin Bateman
Roisin Bateman grew up on the Connemara coast in the west of Ireland and presently resides in Sag Harbor, NY. Bateman describes the contrast between “dark moody skies with rolling clouds…” of the Connemara coast and the “…the more light-reflective – large expanses of sandy shore and flat farmland” of Eastern Long Island and states that “The juxtaposition of these two environments creates a tension and a balancing of forces, which provide a very rich soil from which to create form and expression.”
Her paintings are influenced by the forces of both landscapes.
